Are you suggesting that we should start to change all Buena Vista Home Entertainment entries to Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment? If I got you correct, you've gotta be kidding...

No, what i'm saying is that if Paramount releases a DVD in US, but does not release the DVD under its own company here, but sells the rights to another company.

Also its worth pointing out that Universal Pictures Finland can be added as Universal Pictures with the current rules IMO. As both are official names of the finnish company.

Scanbox's official name is: Scanbox Entertainment Finland

Scanbox Entertainment
Quote:
Scanbox was originally founded in Denmark, and as a direct result of domestic and international business agreements, acquired distribution rights for a string of Danish and international video films. Scanbox subsequently also acquired video companies in all four Scandinavian countries, thereby enabling distribution operations for the theatrical, video and TV markets throughout Scandinavia.

About Scanbox Entertainment:
Quote:
Scanbox was founded in 1980 and today is the oldest distributor of video films in the Nordic countries. Over the years, the company has bought up similar companies in all four Nordic countries and today Scanbox is the largest player in the region with turnover of EUR 55 million. The company has its head office in Viborg and employs some 80-85 people in Denmark.

Scandinavia
Quote:
Scandinavia[1] is a historical and geographical region centred on the Scandinavian Peninsula in Northern Europe. Sources often use the term Scandinavia to describe only the three kingdoms of Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, but it is sometimes extended to cover Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland; or Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland; or, at its greatest extent, the nations of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and their associated territories: The Faroe Islands, The Åland Islands, and Greenland

It is sometimes erroneously extended. But Finland is not part of Scandinavia. Theres a reasons why there are names like Nordic countries, Fennoscandia or Scandinavia. Just because some people use them the wrong way, doesnt mean the real meaning of the word changes ...or maby i should start saying Germany is a Benelux country, if i repeat it long enough would it become true?

Read the discussion pages on Wikipedia instead of repeating all 1000 pointless pages here.

... The only thing relevant is that in English, the term "Scandinavia" is both used to refer to Denmark-Norway-Sweden and in a broader sense that encompasses Finland and Iceland. Any number of dictionaries will tell you that, and dictionaries are written to reflect actual usage, not political or cultural history.

I could not have said it better

It has not just been discussed "somewhere on the internet" - it has been discussed directly related to the article you claim contains an obvious error. In general if you do not agree on something on Wikipedia, it's recommended to read the comments before you declare it is wrong. You might still consider it wrong, but then at least you are informed of the arguments for and against.

But the bottom line is that it is completely utter pointless starting a discussion about the definition of Scandinavia here - we woud just end up with a copy of the Wikipedia talk page (with archives).

It's the same company, even though there's offices in other countries. I think Scanbox Entertainment should be enough to cover everything. Otherwise it'll just become a huge mess with all kinds of variations of the same company.

Warner Home Video should also be enough, no matter which country it's released in. That's what we have the "locality" for.
