These cases are not a one off and they are clearly becomming more prevelent and should IMO be added as a standard case type.

No I am not accusing him of bullying

That's not what lyonsden5 said though.

He commented on you saying that your oppositioned had been strengthened due to unwelcome comments from W0m6at.

His basic point was that someone elses opinions that are unrelated to the idea at hand shouldn't impact our opinion of said idea.

I'll agree on one condition: while "handle case" is an accurate description, they remind me of my old Speak & Spell so I'd call them "Speak & Spell" cases. I'm half joking and half serious about this, but imagine until I have kids it won't affect my profiler anyway.

In principal I am in agreement with you Skip.

I too do not want to see the case type list become unmanageable.

However, that is NOT the case here.
These are NOT one-off cases - which would then come under custom.
These are mass-produced cases for hundreds of different titles (all of them children's titles).

I will never own one of these titles but that does not stop me from recognizing that they are very much a new case-type that needs to available within Profiler.

This is no different to the addition of THINpak and Steelbook - or did you oppose them too??

Not at all, Neill, but there does not seem to be any large degree of market penetration,,,YET and that is what I always look at. Steelbook now has a sizable library of title as does Thinpak, had people started lobbying for these to be added based on a handful titles i would have said the same thing.

I don't class hundreds of titles across multiple continents as a 'handful' Skip.

Are you calling me and the others that have posted here a liar?

Not wise!

I can tell you that I have seen in my local HMV alone at least a hundred titles in these cases.  Also a simple browse through Play.com or Amazon will also reveal how many there are.

You also have other members posting that they have seen multiple examples of these cases in their local stores.

These are NOT isolated cases.

But, as always, because YOU haven't seen these. Because YOU don't agree then we are all wrong.

DON'T EVER CALL ME A LIAR!

Steelbooks seem to be limited to initial runs of titles.

As far as I can see handle cases seem to hang around a lot longer than Steelbook cases, so either they have a much larger run or don't sell well.

Somehow this seemed relevant

Oh good lord, neill,  Don't be so sensitive. I have not called you a liar nor will I, we do have users around here who say that kinbd of thing but not me> The references I have seen so far don't sound like, hundreds but more like a handful. You sound like you are in a bettter posotion to asess that than I and like said if that si true then i would agree, but I have to depend on you. You are the first to mention so many possibilities.

Maybe these cases are just not as prevalent in the US as they are in Australia and the UK? (Wouldn't know myself, I never look at children's stuff).

Given that there are quite a few of these out there in at least some major R2 and R4 localities, I'd be in favour of adding this case type to DVDP.

I haven't see them either, but i consider that irrelevant. Steelbook started in Europe, I think, and made its way stateside. My only concern is the availability, are we talking about a handful or a smattering of titles, or a far larger quantity. Neill indicates that they are far more prevalent than the information I was gleaning from previous posters. The question would actually be, if the information is correct, what would the name be. Is there are formal name or do we have to invent one. But for the moment at least they remain Custom.

It doesn't mean anything that the US doesn't have any; it doesn't have any HD Keep cases either, as far as I know, and those were added to the program especially.
