The fact that some crew members aren't credited as assistants doesn't mean they aren't. You should always look at the context of the credits and check other sources (like websites) to determine what's important and what's not. Besides, if I'm wrong in my thinking why do you think the screeners and most other users would agree with me? If anyone around here could be called "the authority", it would be them, and if your contributions would be making sense I'm sure they will be approved. I know because 99% of mine are.

Yes they will, because if you tell them the credits say "Special Effects" or "Digital Effects" in your notes, I never will tell them in my no-vote that that isn't true. Besides, you're reversing things here. The last time you contributed one of those credits I voted no and it got approved, and after I removed them and contributed the change it first got declined by 12Y-2N and later it got approved by 18Y-2N. Both of those times I said the same thing in my notes. Anyway we already had this discussion and I'm not interested to start all over. This is about prosthetic makeup so lets stay on topic.

I just love this reasoning.  You say that you are correct because "the screeners and most other users agree with you."  If that is the case, why do you remove the data, and recontribute, when they agree with Giga?  Why do you recontribute when your changes are declined?  Seems to me it doesn't really matter who agrees with you as long as you get it the way you want it.

Don't you do exactly the same thing when contributing crew roles that are not in the list, which is strictly forbitten by the rules?

Remember what you wrote about "make-up created by"

This was a decision made by the forum community.  Yes, there are a few dissenter but, if you read all the threads, you will find that most people agree with this option...

You just reproach to Martin to do what you advocated for yourself for make-up artists...

Not quite, though I am not surprised that you see it that way as you have some perverse need to jump on anything I say.

Thanks for the "perverse need". No, I just hate hypocrisy.

BTW , in the past days, you posted 34 times between my two last comments on what you said... That is not exactly jumping on everything...

You're welcome and it's only hypocracy if I am doing the same thing.  Unlike Martin, I am NOT removing valid credits...ones that are in the 'Credited As' column...from profiles simply because I don't like them.

Now, if he were entering an Original Material By credit, and I told him it was against the rules, then it would be hypocritical...though I don't expect you to see the difference.

It was a figure of speech which isn't meant to be taken literally.  Don't they have those in France?

I know you and Surfeur strongly disagree about things - but are these snide remarks really necessary?

OK, sorry for that. I shouldn't have answered to the "perverse need" using "hypocrisy"... I shall try to let say in the future...

I will admit that the 'perverse need' comment probably wasn't the best choice.  There is history here, so I can't promise I won't make the same bad choice in the future.  I was given 2 red arrows for each of those posts, I will assume they came from you and surfeur, so the pound of flesh has been payed.

Maybe we should just take this question to the rules committee.
The better the wording on the rules, the less everyone will have to disagree with.

There is already a thread there concerning 'Creature Designer'.  One on 'Make-up Effects' would be a welcome addition as would one concerning the removal of valid credits.

In fact the wording is very clear : "For each category, include only those people credited with the roles listed in the "Role" and "Credited As" columns. If someone is not credited with one of these roles (or direct translations of these roles), do not include them in the Crew section. "

Discussing about creature designer or make-up effects has strictly no interest as long as this rule and the list remain the same. For my part, I would propose to keep the rule itself, and to delete sound and art sections in the list.
