| Posted: | | | | Here is a screencap of what appears at the start of each "episode". Per the back cover, "The Complete Harveytoons Series includes original animated cartoons from the 1940's and 1950's". Each episode has a copyright of 1998. I believe these were animated shorts that aired in the theaters and that this "The Harveytoon Show" is just episodes that compile them together. So, is an Original Title as shown in the screencap warranted? |

| Posted: | | | | DVD Profiler doesn't deal at all well with original titles for TV show profiles. As it stands, the userbase tends to include some form of season indicator as part of both the Title and Original Title fields. Usually, those are in the form of 'Show Name: Season X' or 'Show Name: The Complete Xth Season', but 'HarveyToons: The Complete Collection' isn't really different.
Now, to answer your question, it's important that we realize that it isn't a specific question for this particular title only, but that it affects pretty much *all* TV show profiles in the database. If we use the on-sceen Original title here, without any form of season indicator, then why shouldn't we do the same for all of them?
If it were me, I'd like to ban all forms of season indicator from the Original Title field, and only enter the show's actual title here. That would do immediate wonders for the CLT as well. In this case, that would mean an Original Title of 'The Harveytoon Show'. But then I'd do it like that accross the board, for *all* TV show profiles, and it doesn't seem like there's a consensus for that... IMHO, this is something that Invelos definitely needs to address. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

Or would all Mickey Mouse Disney Treasures get the original title "Mickey Mouse"? I think not. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

In that case people who use Original Title as their view setting wouldn't see any season indicator. Shield: Season 1 would be Shield, as well as Shield: Season 2.
