We're adding support for this into the upcoming version. However, at this time we don't have a way to generate a disc ID.  Will likely need a new drive.

The LG WH16NS40, or LG WH14NS40, will read the discs.

I now have around 19 UHD titles that I would like to add to DVDP. Does anyone know, if I add these now with the records we have in the database, will these convert over automatically to capture the new format (UHD BD and Dolby Atmos Soundtracks etc etc) once an update is made to DVD Profiler.

I am a little loathed to enter them twice and would rather wait if that is the case

Thank you in advance

Adrian

I'm using tags for them now, when they are available through the program, I can search for them and change them all at once.

We have one in-house and have verified the disc ID function works as intended.  Support for "4K Ultra HD" has been added as a full media type, with automatic and custom banners, filters, etc.

The media name isn't set in stone; will be taking input during the beta soon.

UltraHD Blu-ray gets its own classification, but 3D Blu-ray still does not.

"Media Type" and "Dimensions" aren't enough? Now you want to introduce "classification"?

Just try looking for all of the 3D movies in the database. You can easily filter for only Blu-ray, or DVD, or HD-DVD. But you can't for Blu-ray 3D. Even if you only filter for Blu-ray, now how do you search the titles for only 3D?  You can't.  You have to go thru extra sets to hopefully find the 3D titles.

Computer programs are supposed to make things easier.  When it comes to DVDProfiler and 3D, it doesn't.

Others have said that the classifications are based upon media type.  Well, UHD Blu-ray still uses Blu-ray technology. I'll bet that ultimately people will be able to use current 25GB and 50GB media and burn UHD formatted videos onto them.  The time for using "media" as the delimiter has to come to an end.

When the program is updated for UHD, it should be update for 3D as well.

Aye! And mark "3D Anaglyph" and "Or" at the bottom and you have all 3D-titles.

I have a total of 16 new UHD blu-rays and using TAGS works great but having a new media type will be better.  I also use TAGS for my 3D blu-rays.  I just ordered one of the new UHD-capable LG drives from the UK so I can install it on my PC. The new 4K UHDs look great!
