Well, I finally caved in and bought my first 4K Ultra HD title. In honor of my very first DVD title bought almost 19 years ago back in the autumn of 1999, it is once again The Matrix (a title I've never owned previously on Blu-ray so this is two first times for me).

Now, I just have to go and find myself a good 4K player!

Why do you need the Matrix in 4K? Can't you just read it in source code?

I am sure you will enjoy it. My experience is that a modern 4K title is more impressive than a remastered, originally 1080P title. Resolution, for me, is often the least noticeable difference. The superior colors and clarity of HDR and new sound formats are very enjoyable. I'm not sure if you add those after the original encoding, that you get anything better than the up-scaling done by most 4K enabled equipment.

Anyways, enjoy! If you want my picks for a few titles I like the most, send me a PM.

Up to 17 now, thanks to the arrival of the first Doctor Who on 4K.  (That's the first Doctor Who episode on 4K, not the First Doctor himself.)
Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it?  Guttermouth "Lemon Water".
