Why ?/  probably for a few reasons .. Streaming is #1  .. Nothing exciting  or overly wanting for #2,

and I guess most new releases of dvd's BD or boring..    would round this out ..

Only mainly interested in added classics and updated restorations to my own library and I usually add these during the year as they come out ..

For streaming titles such as ..  (what ever).. I would add the title to my data base just so I can add adate of watched to said title .. and if need be add it to my wish list under the 5 orders of wish.

I have always had Video VHS  Movies  or Laser Disc  or DVD  and then Blue Ray under the tree ever year for almost 40 years ...  ( I refuse at this point at my age to  add/ upgrade titles to  4K )

which then leads to know that this or  My  phenomenon is not unique ...

thoughts ?

anyway..  Merry Christmas to all..

Same to you!

As for me, I enjoy all formats. Nothing beats a good theater for expansive sound - deep bass and surround. But the hassle in getting there, buying the tickets and then afterwards all you've got is memories.

When I buy a 4K Blu-Ray with a digital code, I get it all. My home theater plays the 4K disc with an experience not far from the theater one. And the digital version plays at a notch lower. As many times as I want. This for basically the same price as the theater visit for 2 adults.

When will they figure out that customers rarely want an either / or situation. Give me a movie ticket that includes the disc and digital copy - maybe for $5 more added to the price of 2 adult tickets.
Thanks for your support.

Ditto here widescreenforever. Shelf space is becoming a concern for my physical discs. I've ditched over 150 titles in the last 4 months or so. I've been buying digital/HDX/iTunes when they get cheap enough. From bare-bones discs (easy call there) to titles where all of the features on the disc are also available on MA/Vudu/iTunes, I've cleared up a bunch of shelf space. I know it's blasphemy to say such things on a DVD program forum, but I just don't have infinite shelf space. I'll continue to buy things like steelbooks, store exclusives (bonus discs), Criterions, Kino titles and other "niche"/hard-to-find titles. New releases are so readily available and most new titles' bonus features on one program or another (MA/Vudu/iTunes), I just don't see the point in spending the $$ on them.
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!
