The moderators can't assess intent, they can only do their best to determine whether a post is on topic and whether it stands a chance to perpetuate an ongoing conflict.  In this case they felt it did stand that chance, and took action to stop the conflict.

Please don't get me wrong, I wasn't trying to criticize you or the moderators.  If that is how it came across, I apologize.  The point I was trying to make, and something you eluded to, is that there is a huge learning curve involved.  All the places that I was a mod for, had an established moderation policy and staff.  I can't imagine how hard it would have been if I had started from scratch...as you are doing here.

Again, if my statement came across as an attack on you or the mods, that was not my intent and I do apologize.

I asked a simple question, based on a statement made by Skip earleir in this thread that I found to be very interesting and wanted clarification on.....

And the Forum Moderator comes along and removes it........

And that, Hal is the heart of censorship. Whoever did it did so not because it violated any Froum Rule or attacked someone, it did neither, they did so merely because they did not like it and to me that is abuse of the system and should not be allowed.

This is a new system and mistakes will happen.  As long as we all learn from those mistakes, things should get better.
