The Dark Knight thread is now a good starting point for you guys to practice the spoiler tag by making it spoiler-proof
Kidding. But should it nonetheless turn out to be spoiler-proof, please tell me

Even if they did spoiler-proof it, you wouldn't be left with much! All that would be left is:
Christian Bale was signed up for 3 or 4 movies, the stuff filmed in IMAX is cool and it's doing really well at the box office

BSG Season 3 premired on October 6, 2006 with the final episode airing on March 25, 2007. I'd hardly call that current.

The series hasn't ended yet, that makes it a current series...unless I don't know what the word 'current' means.

Quote:
Albeit, the DVD wasn't released until March 18, 2008 but that was 3 months ago. Any "spoilers" had already been revealed, discussed and recussed months ago all over the internet.

The spoiler I refered to was posted on April 13, 2008, less than a month after the R1 release and a full month BEFORE it was released in other countries.

Just because there happens to be someone on the planet who hasn't seen it yet doesn't make what Cliff did "bad netiquette".

Cliff's post was 'off topic'.  It revealed plot details in a thread where you wouldn't expect it to happen.  That, by itself, makes it bad netiquette.

Quote:
Just because the series is still running on television shouldn't preclude someone from discussing past episodes IMO...especially for episodes that were televised over a year ago.

You are correct.  What should preclude someone from doing that are good manners and common courtesy.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Can I ask for a slight amendment to the 'functionality'. The best way that I've seen spoiler's done is as yu have, but the colour changes to something visible when you hover over the spoiler element (using the :hover CSS pseudo class). It's just easier than selecting the text.
