I noticed today we have (out of a dozen or so contribution in data) the  1937 'A Star is Born'  there are two listed as 1934 .. then I see that the rear packaging is incorrectly  listed as 1934 ..
I'm sure there is a discussion on this somewhere ., ' where "what is on the  cover takes precedence than what is on the actual film / screen images ..' .

seriously?
thought we/us  at Invelos wanted to be better than IMDB  and not make any mistakes what
so-ever .. and besides that..,,  it draws a lot of confusion between any of us who actually know and those of us who don't have a clue.. as the people were.. who put that inferior artwork  together ....

So by putting in the correct year on both of these titles .. I'm sure to get a rejection -that will then be approved by the staff to be.. who is in charge of keeping the Data correct ...

Film should always take precedence over a cheap cardboard knockoff , put out by a licenced manufacturer who can take out of date public domain title  and put together their own overview  and that's all it is ..  an Overview of the facts that one staffer can't read ....
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

'A Star is Born' is from 1937, no matter what the cover says. So by all means, go ahead and submit 1937, and counter any no-voters with the facts.

Seriously? As a long time user you should know by now that our primary source for the data is the disc/film itself. But if the data is not in the film you have to take it from somewhere. Like the cover. Which might be right or wrong. If it's wrong, no problem, someone will come along and correct it eventually. So be happy that someone still contribute profiles instead of whining about trivialities.

Not sure what your stab at IMDb is about, they of course have the year right.

Yeah, the only thing that I believe we are supposed to duplicate exactly is Overviews, even if they contain errors.

But if the cover is wrong about the running time, the year, studios then we can correct it to match the film/tv show on the disc(s).

I presume you're referring to the production year field.  According to the rules we're supposed to use the date of the original theatrical release thus that would take precedence over anything listed on the cover.
